    The self-absorption! I’m! So! Fed up! 70 pages in! Of course, it’s never not a good time to interrogate the structures and scaffolding surrounding gender, sexuality, and what it means to build an ‘unconventional’ family, but I don’t care for Nelson’s methodology. To sum up: there can never be an either/or unless you so choose.

    最打动我的大概是她本科时与她心目中理想的intellectual mother Christina Crosby的互动。讲到Crosby这位一辈子在解构身分的帅气Butch,在身分问题上被一群爱她、但又拥抱女性身分、拥抱基于身分的女性主义传统的学生所羞辱。理论与经验、私人与公共、结构与解构的互动在这则逸事中表现得很透彻。师生交互也说明了autobiography和autotheory的价值:auto并不意味着自我沉溺,而是对相依而生的关系性的投入,是一个邀请的手势,邀请他人加入自身所处的空间与传统。
